Honoring our military and first responders | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

COURAGE

mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty
— Merriam Webster Dictionary

There is something incredibly powerful about the integrity of those who serve our country.

I personally did not grow up with a family member actively serving in the military, although before I was born, my dad was in the Navy. I actually do not have any family members currently in the armed forces, but now that my kids are in the adult world, I am seeing a rise in young men and women who are choosing to make this amazing sacrifice. Maybe its been happening all along and I’m just now noticing it because my kids have friends and classmates that are currently going through boot camp and training or have recently finished up and are actively serving.

First responders also have incredible integrity, and I am so thankful for their regular sacrifices that provide safety and help for me and my family when we are in need.

Police officers, firefighters, medical personnel -

they are ALL my heroes.

But there is one more set of people that have this amazing integrity I speak of. Many of our soldiers, police officers, and other first responders have wives, children and family that often must make incredible sacrifice. They must be willing to give their loved one up so that they can serve you and me. They often have to give up time at the holidays when the rest of us take for granted that we can have our loved one with us. They have to be willing for that loved one to be absent late into the night while they are responding to an emergency or for months at a time to complete an assignment.

I’ve read many stories of women who have given birth without the baby’s father present because he was serving our country. I can’t even imagine going through that experience without my husband at my side, yet many women do. Often the baby will be weeks and even months and sometimes even years old before their daddy gets to meet them. This speaks greatly to the strength of these women and the family members left behind. It speaks of their willingness to sacrifice for you and me.

As a photographer that specializes in newborns, this truth has an extra big impact. I see these sweet, tiny newborns come into my studio and know that within just a few days and weeks they will change so much and be so very different! And I want to be a blessing to all of those who are serving our country and ultimately serving me and my family!

Memory Lane Photography offers a special investment price for military and first responder families! Be sure to mention when booking your newborn photo session that you are currently serving or have served in the past! I love being a blessing to military and first responder families!

Thank you to each and every one of you for your sacrifice of love!
