Destination Newborn Session | Kinley and Momma's Horse | Indianapolis Newborn Photographer

After taking a road trip to do my niece’s maternity session at Natural Bridge State Park (you can read all about that HERE!), her baby finally arrived, and it was time for another road trip!

I packed up several things from my Indianapolis studio and my husband and I took a road trip to Kentucky.

Most of the time, clients come to my studio for their newborn session, but on this special occasion, we took a road trip. Momma is an avid horse lover and grew up with horses. She really wanted her little one to have a photo with one of her special horses.

When we arrived, we enjoyed meeting sweet little Kinley. We didn’t have to wait long for her to get sleepy so we could pose her for her first set up!

It was a beautiful, warm day, and the best light was on the covered front porch of my sister-in-law’s house, so I did some assessing of the best angles where the light would fall beautifully, and we set things up right there on the porch!

Kinley was just breathtaking in this shade of blue!

Next, we prepared a gray and pink floral set up. I posed her in my bucket with pretty, dainty pink flowers with her little face resting on her little hands and framed by her tiny little arms.

The front porch had a sturdy table that was perfect for the next set of shots, so we laid some soft padding underneath the backdrop, clamped the backdrop to the edge of the porch and a window frame, and created a make shift set up for these beautiful shots of Kinley in cream and pink! My husband and Kinley’s daddy were a big help getting everything set up!

Using the same table on the front porch, we changed the backdrop to this beautiful lacy lavender, and changed Kinley into this sweet outfit

Much like the blue color we started with, I felt these colors beautifully complimented her skin tone! Isn’t she just precious in these colors?

Next up was the highlight of this special session! Momma brought out her favorite horse!

We had momma and daddy close by to keep the horse a safe distance from Kinley.

My husband stayed with Kinley and kept her secure and safe and only moved out of the way for a quick second when I was ready to grab the shot.

As we finished up, we got some sweet photos of my sister-in-law with her sweet granddaughter, as well as a shot of all three generations. What a treasure these photos will be as time passes and Kinley grows and changes!

Look at how precious and tiny Kinley is in her daddy’s hands!

Of course, photos with just momma and her baby girl were a must.

There is so much beauty in this photo.

Last but not least, we finished up with family photos. This new sweet little family deserved to be beautifully captured as they begin this new chapter of life together!
