Indianapolis provides such a variety of amazing locations for your summer maternity session! Here are some of my favorite spots to capture your heirloom photos as you celebrate and anticipate the arrival of your little one!
The Inn just outside Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park provides a great amount of variety for your maternity session.
The inn itself as well as the bridge and the area around the bridge provide a unique combination of architecture and nature.
Coxhall Gardens in Carmel is another great location that provides a great combination of architecture and nature. There is an amphitheater with a beautiful gazebo, and a historic mansion. These areas are surrounded by landscaping, mirroring ponds, a stately bridge and twin bell towers. A few weeping willow trees can be found along the pond. There is also a big red barn that adds another element of uniqueness to the variety of backdrops provided here.
Downtown Indianapolis provides seemingly endless possibilities for your summer maternity session!
One of my favorite spots is near the NCAA building near the White River and the canal walk. This area allows the architecture of Downtown Indy to be highlighted, but it also provides an area that looks out on the White River, so it provides some nature backdrops even though you are in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis!
I also love to start at the opposite end of the canal walk by 11th Street. Depending on what part of the canal we do your maternity session, there is a wide range of variety of backdrops.
The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is a beautiful location for your summer maternity session.
The beautful light stones and waterfalls on the monument make for a beautiful backdrop.
The courtyard to many of the amazing hotels in Downtown Indianapolis provide beautiful architecture and landscaping with flowers and greenery.
Indianapolis provides a large variety of parks all around the city. Each park provides a unique backdrop and setting. Some of these include Eagle Creek Park on the northwest side, Southeastway Park on the east side, Flat Fork Creek Park and Falls Park on the northeast side.
The area around the Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple is beautiful. It provides a bridge with a red railing overlooking a beautiful river as well as some unique backdrops.
And that brings us to my two FAVORITE summer locations in Indianapolis for your maternity session. One of these favorite locations is a creek at any one of my favorite parks where you can have the serenity and beauty of the water as a backdrop behind you. I always encourage mommas to get in and put your feet in the water a bit to cool off! This not only feels good on your feet but makes for some gorgeous shots!
And last but not least is my other FAVORITE location for your summer maternity session. I love finding a big open field at sunrise or sunset and shooting your session there. This involves some scouting on my part as we get close to your session date. I will be on the lookout for fields with wildflowers and beautiful natural backdrops to give you the most gorgeous backdrop for your Indiana summer maternity session highlighting the Indiana summers.
