This spring, I had the privilege of documenting the most enchanting maternity session for an expectant couple and their sweet dog, Flynn. Their session was set against a dreamy, castle-like backdrop in Indianapolis.
This sweet couple was eagerly anticipating their first baby girl. Because of their nursery theme of Tangled, I chose an outdoor location that perfectly complemented this whimsical fairytale theme.
We began the session with relaxed, classic portraits in simple white T-shirts and blue jeans, capturing the love and excitement they shared, which included their sweet pup.
He wore a sweet kerchief that said
“Big Bro”
From there, this beautiful momma slipped into one of my exclusive client closet pieces: a luxurious, boho-inspired cream gown paired with a delicate floral crown.
As we were shooting, I showed her husband one of the portraits on the screen on the back of my camera, and he said she looked like an angel.
It was so precious to see this new daddy adoring his wife!
And he was right! She did look like an angel!
Finally, she changed into a simple, blush pink dress that was a personal favorite of hers.
Every moment of this maternity session reflected the magic of new beginnings. Flynn the pup’s presence made it even sweeter and personal for them, and it was a beautiful time celebrating the love within their family.
This maternity story seamlessly transitioned into an equally unforgettable newborn session once their baby girl arrived — where Flynn returned to join their growing family portrait.
